Adoption "Maternity" Shoot

When we were pregnant with both Asher and Alethea, we had our friend Emily of Emily Rose Portraits take our maternity pictures. She did a wonderful job with both of those shoots and we loved the images she created. Now that we are expecting two more through Ugandan adoption, we knew we wanted to capture the same joy, love and anticipation we had in pregnancy in an adoption "maternity" shoot. Inspired by two other shoots we found in blog world (check them out here and here), we grabbed our props, Emily and a humid Florida day and headed out to Circle B Bar Reserve.

The mosquitoes and humidity were almost killer and the grass was extremely high and hard to traverse in our nice clothing, but Emily did a fantastic job overcoming these challenges and capturing these beautiful images. We took several more photos that I can't wait to see, that we can't share until the boys are here, because they actually contain pictures of the boys in them. Enjoy these first sneak peeks that Emily posted yesterday!
